Birthday Party with Life-like Cake

  • Throwing pretend parties and serving slices of cake develops crucial social and speech skills.
  • Cutting cake with the serving tool refines fine motor skills and teaches counting, shapes, and fractions.
  • Includes 5 pieces of cake, 5 candles, serving tool, cake platter, and happy birthday decoration.

Great value!!!   Children can decorate with streamers, balloons and party hats!  Teachers, let children help you decorate an area in the classroom (we do this in our housekeeping area).  There is almost nothing in the world a child likes more than a birthday party!    Each of the 5 pieces of cake fit together with velcro, which is fun to cut apart and hear the “scrrrrunch!”   Watch as children figure out how this cake goes together and see their minds working on problem-solving and attention to a task as they turn each piece of cake to fit on the platter.  How persistent are they at figuring this “puzzle” out?  Help them with their social skills from the moment the cake is presented (in pieces) and everyone wants to “help”.  Teach sharing, taking turns, vocabulary and finally counting as the candles get put in.  Sing happy birthday and model blowing out the candles.  Take turns cutting and serving as each person is asked, “would you like a piece of cake?”  Pretend to lick your fingers and talk about getting a pink, yellow, green, blue or purple piece of cake (candle colors).  The possibilities with this cake are endless!!  Children can even pretend to bake it first!

A Sweet Way to Learn Shapes

  • Match the colorful cupcake tops to their bottoms
  • Develops color and shape identification
  • Set includes: plastic pan and eight 2-part cupcakes
  • Cupcakes pull apart to reveal shapes
  • Ages 2+

LOVE this batch of cupcakes!  Learn shapes and colors and counting!  Great problem solving as the frosting is matched to the correct cake and turned to fit.  Increase vocabulary, social skills, length of sentences and correct speech patterns.  Add it to the Birthday Cake above and have a fantastic party for the whole class!

Bake up some counting Fun with these cookies

A Delicious way to develop counting skills, number recognition and eye-hand coordination.

  • The cookies have raised chocolate chips so children can use their sense of touch to count how many chocolate chips are on the cookie
  • Set includes a plastic cookie jar containing 11 cookies with numerals 0-10 printed on the bottom and corresponding number of counting chips on top
  • Cookies measure 1¾ inch in diameter and jar measures 6½ inch H
  • Easy to clean-up and store in the cookie jar
  • Ideal for ages 2+

We put these out on a cookie sheet and in our play oven.  Use oven mitts to get the pan out and a spatula to get them off of the cookie sheet!  These cookies serve multiple purposes and have helped tremendously with our counting and number recognition skills in preschool!

Farmers Market Color Sorting-Vegetable & Fruit Labeling Set

Was $39.99 Now $29.99

Color labels on the INSIDE  and OUTSIDE of the baskets make this set of fruits and vegetables even easier to sort.  Children are often looking down into the basket and dropping items in.  So many common items, as well as, a few unique ones.  There’s a nice variety of play food which includes some you don’t typically see in other play food sets (eggplant, cucumber, pumpkin, 3 different colors of pepper, yellow apple, peach, plum). Like all Learning Resources play food, the quality is amazing.

This item has had great reviews:  One mom said, ” The baskets are a hard plastic and have withstood many a fling across the room. They have never cracked and look as new and vibrant as the day I bought them. The same can be said for the fruit. They are firm and have the feeling of a rubber and plastic combination. My son has chewed on them and tried to squish them and they’re in perfect condition. They are not slippery and have a nice thickness to them (without being too big)which makes it easy to grasp. They all have a vibrant color to them and have maintained their vibrancy even after heavy usage.”

For amazing play food that is very realistic looking you can’t go wrong with this purchase!  Awesome opportunity to increase vocabulary and spend hours playing “grocery store” or “farmers market”!  Count the food and identify colors while you are shopping.
